Behind the Lens with Aymiiel

We linked with Aymiiel for a shoot on Randall's Island. No studio. No set. Just open space and natural light, which is how most of their best work happens.

Aymiiel was amazing to work with. Incredible energy and a real passion for the arts that came through in every frame. They shoot with a perspective-first approach, work that moves between editorial fashion, street portraits, and environmental shoots, always grounded in how the subject actually exists in the space. No over-directing. The camera finds what's already there.

For this shoot, the focus was on the Esk Noir Zip Up and Origami Pants. Both pieces were designed to carry a look on their own, and Aymiiel captured that without forcing it. The garments moved naturally because the shoot moved naturally.

That's what makes working with photographers like Aymiiel worth highlighting. They don't just take pictures of clothes, they document how the work lives on a person, in a real place, under real conditions. That matters more than a controlled studio setup when you're trying to show what a piece actually does.

Follow their work on Instagram at @aymiiel. DM to book.
